Review of 'Dhoom3': Aamir 'steals' the show

Genre:
Action-Thriller-drama

Plot: All 'Dhoom' movies only have one plot: robbing(but this time, the protagonist sprinkles the notes, instead of taking the money with him).

The protagonist's father, the magician, commits suicide unable to pay a bank loan. The protagonist after growing up avenges the bank and starts robbing and as usual, the duo, 'Jai' and 'Ali' are asked for help by the Chicago police.

The Director's Angle:
The director made an effort to thrill the audience through innovative stunts and 'drama'.

Strong Point:
'Aamir' is definitely the strength of the movie as well the drama in the second half of the movie.

Logic:
  • There seems to be no CCTVs in Chicago to get any glimpse of Aamir during the first robbery, and they may have got it right after Jai's arrival.
  • The Chicago police seems to have forgot to shoot a fugitive or may be only 'Jai' has the permission to shoot, that too only one bullet while hanging on a ladder from a chopper.

Music:
The background score creates the impact that the story demands, songs were okay.

'Critic'al View:
The story starts with a depressive magic/circus show. And then the usual introductions, one for the robber and the other for the cop pair, which are filled with some exaggerated(you can read it innovative too) stunts.

'Jai' and 'Ali' fails to grab the protagonist on their first chase, which involves some more bike feats. The first half ends on a high note with the twist of the movie, which reveals the real thief(hope your over-enthusiastic friends, who saw the movie, didn't reveal it).

The second half moves around the drama that the interval twist unveils. The protagonist prepares to take down the bank with a final job, while 'Jai' prepares a trap for him. Some more innovation in the stunts as the movie reaches the climax.

The dances were partly a let down, as one can expect after the duo of Hrithik&Ash. But the thematic elements makes up for it.

Quotes:
  • Just before the climx, 'Jai' says on a walkie-talkie, "I need some choppers, a SWAT team and sunrise".
Bloopers:
  • We never get to see how the main lead gets inside the bank and robs it in the entire movie.
Rating: 3/5
(5 - Excellent, 4 - Very Good, 3 - good2 - average1 - poor0 - Repulsive)

Even though there are a number of negatives, Aamir makes up for most of them with his 'One-Men-Show'.

Who can watch:
People who like some bike stunts and/or 'Aamir'.

Insensitivity & Bullying: Common findings among us

It only takes a minute or two of a human brain's work to see through what the other person feels and how to react to it in a humane manner. But, it won't apply to the lakhs of bots that the current society of ours is filled with. Our minds are getting narrower day by day to think through an issue properly before responding to it, with the immoral systems of ours failing to instill values into the young minds.

And we can observe the falling manners of young people in one or the other matter everyday. Today is not any different.

When Samantha, the popular actress of south indian film industry felt bad when she saw a film poster, she tweeted about her displeasure.

She didn't mention the names for obvious reasons. But what followed on twitter was an exhibition of rotten minds. And thats not all, the groupism in the fans of different heroes of Telugu Film Industry adds to the rot.

This might be the poster that was the reason for all this, but i doubt how many of those participants even know this.

Well, who ever got this creative idea might have thought to reverse the usual romantic movie scene where, generally a guy would be in the position of the girl in this poster and vice-versa. Or, the story may demand such scene, we do not know yet.

But, The self proclaimed Mahesh Babu fans took offensive to it, even though Samantha didn't blame anyone directly.

And when the Co-Actor Siddtharth(allegedly in love with Samantha) came to her rescue with some tweets, they went even more personal trending #GetLostSamanthaAndSiddharth

After some time, another trend in support of samantha #WeLoveSamantha, started trending.

But, if you think that it was a relief, it wasn't. The groups of fans started abusing each other and meanwhile some called the opposite trend, a paid one and went on finding their own ways of abusing.

and some more tweets from siddharth

And finally, if thats not all, some movie gossip web portals have already started insinuating motives behind the act.

Are the Telugu Film Industry Actors watching this ? Do they have real guts to address the issue of their fans, which is not new? - may be in a movie, not in the real life.

Review of 'Aata Aarambham'

Genre:
Action Thriller

Plot:
An extremist and his team take on the corrupt system of business(wo)men and people in powerful positions.

The Director's Angle:
Special effort to make the movie fast paced and stylish are visible.

Strong Point:
The cast and the screenplay, especially in the first half of the movie.

Logic:
  • No explanation on how the protagonist procure material for so many bombs that he plants.
  • No clarification on the protagonist's side for killing so many innocent police officers along with the opponents.

Music:
The background score adds to the style and action of the movie. The songs are not boring, particularly for a dubbed movie.

'Critic'al View:
The story starts with a series of bomb blasts planted by the protagonist. He kidnaps a (world-class) hacking expert to help him with his next plan. The first half starts with small introductory twists and makes the viewer involved, with some kind of action going on in each scene.

The flashback is predictable in a broader sense, even though there is a new angle that in a small way can be related to the Mumbai terrorist attack that happened in 2008.

The cast are well suited for their respective roles. We can see a number of good actors known for good acting.
Bloopers:
  • During the climax, the triangular exchanging of kidnapped persons is funny and also reminding a somewhat similar scene in Aarya2.

Rating: 3/5
(5 - Excellent, 4 - Very Good, 3 - good2 - average1 - poor0 - Repulsive)

'Aata Aarambham' is on rails but lacking in strong performances and a suspense element.

Who can watch:
Every one, but with low expections.

Review of 'Venkatadri Express':

Genre:
Thriller

Plot:
'Venkatadri Express' is an entertainer that takes you through the ordeals of a bold young guy, who is on the verge of loosing his place in the house by making his 100th mistake and there by breaking the family constitution, while going from Hyderabad to Tirupati for his brother's marriage after failing to catch the 'Venkatadri Express'.

The Director's Angle:
The director made an effort to thrill the audience through out the journey with some twists and a shade of humor.

Strong Point:
The dialogues that are in tune with the humor attached, except for some.

Logic:
Though there are some surrealistic acts that create the required drama, the timeline that is most important for this kind of movie, is well maintained throughout the movie.

Music:
The background score is in sync with the action and engaging. The two songs are enjoyable with meaningful lyrics.

'Critic'al View:
The story starts with a series of hurried scenes in order to demonstrate the hastiness of the main lead's father. But, after reaching the main plot, the screenplay gets better but lacks the suspense element.

The transition between present and flashback is smooth and timely. The humor is good overall, but at times borderline.

The father's character is too hasty and the brother's character's too silly to be genuine.

The screen looks fresh and bright and camera work won't make you fell its being there, which is a good thing.

Quotes:
  • Some of the crowd has its moment when the character of a drunkard(Thagubothu Ramesh) says "నా  బ్రాండ్ కానిదేదైనా నాకు చీప్ లిక్కరే రా బయి," which translates to "any brand that I don't drink is cheap liquor to me, brother".
Bloopers:
  • The introduction fight leaves the main lead with a cleanly ironed shirt after a bath of paints during the fight.

Rating: 2.5/5
(5 - Excellent, 4 - Very Good, 3 - good2 - average1 - poor0 - Repulsive)

'Venkatadri Express' is on rails but lacking in strong performances and a suspense element.

Who can watch:
Who can bear somewhat dragging yet entertaining journey of one night.
